Welcome

We joined Broadway United Methodist in 2005 because of the welcoming nature of the congregation.  Since joining, Amy has become baptized, we were married in the church, and welcomed our daughter, Christian Ellen into our family in February of 2008.  We have had such a positive experience with Broadway and feel fortunate to be active members in the church.

Easter on the River is an outreach program of Ministry on the River. In coordination with the Seaman's Church Institute Paducah office, pastry boxes decorated by school children are packed at numerous locations up and down the rivers and then distributed by towing companies to their crews. The boxes contain devotionals, New Testaments, candy, and  homemade cards by area children.  Easter on the River reminds those who can’t be at home with their families for the holiday of God’s love and that they are not forgotten.   Members of the Broadway Congregation assist with this ministry each year.

Christmas on the River is an outreach program of Seaman's Church Institute's Ministry on the River. Gift boxes are delivered to towboat crews who typically work 28-30 days at a time, regardless of holidays. This program lets those who can’t be home Christmas day know that they are not forgotten. Gift boxes are packed up and down the rivers and include hand knit scarves or a small gift from Seamen’s Church Institute, a devotional, and handmade cards from children. Other items may include home made cookies, candy, puzzle books, DVD and VCR movies, paperback books, jigsaw puzzles, etc. Members of our Broadway congregation assist in the packing of these boxes each year.
